Coldwater Lake ~ Mt St Helens

Late afternoon
I was the only one at the lake ~
  it was magical !
This short boardwalk was built by the National Park Service.
Thank you National Park Service . .
I love this place !

Coldwater Lake was born from the eruption of Mt St Helens, in 1980.

Delightful! The afternoon light on the fence rails and hills adds extra colour and depth.

Amazing....and bless the NPS for making that boardwalk. What a perfect place for a stand alone moment of just BEING.

I was able to visit Mt St Helens in 2001 and I though it was so beautiful and interesting learning about the birth of a new lake. I hope I get to go back one day. Your photo is beautiful.

Simply beautiful, Laura - and how nice that you had the place to yourself ! (love your header too !).

I'm in catch-up mode (again. still ...) Really enjoyed your recent posts (esp. freshly fallen snow - I love mountains).
