A Mountain in Recovery

Mt St Helens erupted in 1980
blasting away the north face
along with its beautiful peak
For over 30 years we've watched the mountain
and surrounding wilderness slowly recover
I'm in awe of nature ~

I so remember the horror of watching the eruption and destruction. Thank you for showing up this wonder of mother nature healing ability.

I saw the mountain from a distance in 1987m it was still smoking then. Now it looks peaceful. Nature knows how to heal itself.

Laura, I am sure this mountain will recover but unfortunately it takes a long time. Healing in nature takes what ever it takes. It seems that nature is smarter than we are.

This is so serene and so beautiful. I love this type of solitude where no wind and no any sound.

Fascinating picture! And very exceptional.

Hugs from me to you, my dear friend.

I remember that day. We got some of that ash here in Edmonton. Coated my car.
